Quilt of Valor is ready to be awarded

Quilts of Valor is one of my charities that I like to support as much as time allows me.

Kaye Allen sent me her quilt top with the backing to get quilted by me about a month ago.

Looking at the quilt and the empty white spaces, I found that I had no choice but to pull out all the stops and custom quilt this beautiful top. So with my APQS Millie longarm quilting machine on my 14ft quilting table, I went to design and work…

Kaye will be showing it in the upcoming County Fair in Roseville CA and I am really proud to be apart of this. Kaye and her group of quilters (Freedom Troopers) made this quilt to award to a member of our USA Troops.

Needed: donation for “Quilts of Valor” project

Most of you that follow me on my personal Facebook, know that I am a retired Air Force veteran so “Quilts of Valor” (www.qovf.org) is dear to me.
As an textile and fiber artist, I like to contribute on a regular base, a handmade quilt to this Foundation that will be given to our wounded veterans.

To make this happen, I need your help. I will donate my time to design and make the quilts and I am asking you to consider donating: 100% cotton fabric in solid red, solid white, solid blue and patriotic print fabrics and help me with the supplies needed to make quilts to donate.
My husband will donate the money to ship the quilts to and from the long arm quilter and to the Foundation, where they will be given to our wounded veterans 🙂
How can you help?

Update on the custom ordered quilts and new designs

This week I have been playing around with new quilt designs and I tested out a star pattern:

I forgot to iron it before I took the pic but it’s perfect 🙂

Worked for a little bit to put borders on the vintage flower quilt top which was ordered by one of my customers as a gift for a family member:

 

Still have to miter the borders, iron and find a backing fabric for this adorable quilt 🙂

 

I love the pretty fabrics used in this throw size quilt.
